Bonfire night with Hooper’s is all about wrapping up with your loved ones and watching the local firework display while tucking into to some tasty homemade toffee apples. This year, Hooper’s have given the traditional toffee apple a little Hooper’s touch to create a Hooper’s infused toffee apple recipe. Firstly, raid your kitchen for the below ingredients, alongside placing an order for a case of Hooper’s Alcoholic Classic Cherryade (naturally):Â
- 75g golden syrup Â
- 75g black treacle Â
- 150g light soft brown sugar Â
- 75g butter Â
- ¼ tsp cream of tartarÂ
- Apples
STEP 1
grab a saucepan
To begin, reduce your bottle of Hooper’s down in a saucepan by boiling it until you get a thick red liquid. Meanwhile, line a baking tray with some greaseproof paper and a little oil.Â
STEP 2
get your boil on
Measure all the ingredients into a deep, heavy-based saucepan. Place over a medium heat and stir occasionally until the butter is melted and the light soft brown sugar has dissolved. When the mixture is smooth and well-combined, increase the heat and bring the mixture to a fast boil. From here, dip in each apple and coat fully with the toffee.
STEP 3
let cool
Set the apples on the baking tray and let cool until the toffee hardens.
STEP 4
tuck in
Kick back, put your feet up and tuck into your homemade Hooper’s infused toffee apples. It’s as simple as that.
