Franklin & Sons Cocktail Recipes

We've come up with a few suggestions for how to get the best out of your cocktails by adding some Franklin & Sons magic. 

Old Fashioned Spirtz

A classic whiskey cocktail with a twist.

This cocktails bold flavours are elevated and freshened up with the addition of Franklin & Sons Mandarin & Ginger Soda.

Ingredients 

  • 50ml Bourbon Whiskey
  • 5ml Demerara syrup
  • 3 dashes Angostura bitters
  • 100ml Franklin & Sons Mandarin & Ginger Soda 
  • Cubed ice 
  • Garnish with orange peel (just simplifying the language for the laymen)
  • Highball glass 

Instructions:

  1. Pour your whiskey, demerara syrup and bitters to a high ball glass.
  2. Add ice all the way to the top of your glass and slowly stir for 20 seconds. 
  3. Add your Franklin & Sons Mandarin & Ginger and give 3 more final stirs to combine.
  4. Pinch your orange peel of the glass to express the oils on the top of the drink and add the peel to the glass.

    Pineapple Crush

    A light and refreshing twist on the classic Pina Colada.
    Using Franklin & Sons Pineapple & Almond Soda takes you straight to a tropical island in the sun. Zingy pineapple and rich sweet rum come together in Caribbean harmony for bright and vibrant long drink.

     

    Ingredients:

    • 40ml RedLeg Pineapple Rum
    • 15ml Fresh lime juice
    • 10ml Orgeat or coconut syrup
    • 100ml Franklin & Sons Pineapple & Almond Soda
    • Cubed ice
    • 2 pineapple leaves to garnish (do no eat these)
    • Highball/copa glass
    Instructions:
    1. Add rum, lime and orgeat to a cocktail shaker.
    2. Fill your highball/copa glass with ice.
    3. Add ice to your cocktail shaker with your ingredients and shake hard for 15 seconds.
    4. Strain your liquid over your ice in your highball glass.
    5. Top with Franklin & Sons Pineapple & Almond Soda and give 3 slow stirs to combine.
    6. Garnish with pineapple leaves.

    Guava & Coconut Mojito

    A vibrant twist on a tropical icon.

     

    A taste of sunshine all year round this cocktail is both complex and fresh and is made brighter with the inclusion of Franklin & Sons Guava & Lime Soda.

    Ingredients:

    • 50ml Coconut Rum
    • 20ml Fresh lime juice
    • 15ml Sugar syrup
    • 75ml Franklin & Sons Guava & Lime Soda
    • 6-8 Mint leaves
    • Cubed/crushed ice
    • Highball glass

     Instructions:

    1. In the palm of your hands give your mint leaves a clap or two to release those oils before adding to your highball glass.
    2. Add your ice, rum, lime juice and sugar syrup.
    3. Add your Franklin & Sons Guava & Lime soda and give a final couple of stirs to combine and redistribute the mind leaves throughout the drink.

    Gin-ger Ale

    A lighter twist on a classic Foghorn cocktail.

     

    For this more easy-going summery version of its classic counterpart Franklin & Sons Original Ginger Ale lightens and softens the drink whilst keeping the punchy backbone of fresh ginger.

     

    Ingredients:

    • 50ml Rhubarb Gin
    • 15ml Fresh lime juice
    • 100ml Franklin & Sons Original Ginger Ale
    • Lime wheel garnish
    • Cubed ice
    • Large wine glass
    • (Add two dashes of Angostura Bitters to make more Autumnal)

    Instructions:

    1. Add Rhubarb Gin, lime juice (and bitters if you want) and ice to a wine glass.
    2. Top up with Franklin & Sons Original Ginger Ale.
    3. Stir to combine ingredients.
    4. Garnish with lime wheel.

    English Rose

    A truly floral tipple.
    Elegant and sophisticated, this light fragrant cocktail is perfect for summer sipping and features Franklin & Sons Natural Rose Lemonade.

     

    Ingredients:

    • 30ml Grapefruit Gin/Vodka
    • 20ml Rose Vermouth (Don’t mention Forty-Five as I have discontinued/shelved it)
    • 10ml Fresh lemon juice
    • 1 dash of cucumber bitters
    • 75ml Franklin & Sons Natural Rose Lemonade
    • Cucumber ribbon to garnish
    • Cubed ice
    • Wine Glass

    Instructions:

    1. Add your ribbon to your wine glass starting at the base of the glass and spiralling upwards around the inside of the glass to the top.
    2. Gently add your ice to the glass to keep your ribbon in place.
    3. Add your gin/vodka, vermouth, lemon juice and bitters.
    4. Top with Franklin & Sons Natural Rose Lemonade.
